I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those Democratic voters in the First District of Ohio County with whom I haven't had the opportunity to meet during this campaign.
I am the son of the late Samuel "Junior" and Wangola Blackburn Small. I have been married for 18 years to Jennifer VanFleet Small (daughter of Beth McDaniel VanFleet and the late Darrell VanFleet). We have two daughters, Julie Elizabeth and Jessie Nicole, and one son (deceased), Samuel Small III.
We live on Mud College Road and attend church at Green River Baptist Church.
I farm for a living and my wife works as a physical therapist.
As an Ohio County farmer, I understand living on a budget, the need for properly maintained roads, helping your neighbors and being attentive to the needs of others.
I support local businesses and industries and will work to support all efforts to attract new industries to Ohio County. I am a friend of coal.
I, respectfully, ask for your vote and support on Tuesday, May 20, and in return, I promise to represent you in a fair and just manner and to the best of my ability.
