Ohio County High's Lady Eagles smacked visiting Fort Campbell 73-13 Monday night in the season-opening game for both teams. In fact, the Lady Falcons were never really in the game, falling behind by 41 points before scoring their first basket midway in the second quarter.
Lady Eagle forward Sequoya Huff popped in 13 first-quarter points as Ohio County jumped out to a 29-0 lead. Guard Sarah Stone had five for the home team as their lead reached 49-3 at halftime. Forwards Kiana Barrett and Allison Druin had four each to pace the Lady Eagles in the third frame as their advantage went to 63-6 and forward Chelsea Cooper's four topped OCHS in a quick but low-scoring fourth quarter.
Huff led all scorers with 15 points, playing sparingly in the second half, while Druin was next with a dozen. Druin's seven rebounds paced Ohio County's 35-21 edge on the backboards with Tailer Turner's nine steals contributing to the Lady Falcons' 43 turnovers.
