Every year Luttrell Farms in Olaton, Ky., host Ag Days and this year was no different.
Every year during Ag Days, local elementary school children, usually 4th or 5th grade, come to the farm to learn about agriculture and farming. This year the Luttrells also hosted "Family Night at the Farm" where the children's parents could come see what Ag Days are all about and to learn a little bit themselves.
One of the highlights of Ag Days is the Warren RECC Electrical Demonstration. For Family Night they put on this demonstration at dark for the first time. It offers a lot of information about how electrical workers do their job along with some interesting visuals and sounds.
Chris Burden and Chad Cox are both with Warren RECC and they put on a very informative show and because that night's crowd wasn't all elementary school children, they geared the show into a direction of explaining to everyone why they do the things they do when there is an electrical outage. The crowd also learned a little about how transformers are protected from birds and squirrels and how there is a computer than can predict where the workers need to go to turn the power back on based on outage reports.
