The National Weather Service in Louisville has updated its winter weather briefing for the oncoming winter storm. Ohio County is currently under a Winter Storm Warning.According to the NWS around 1:30 p.m., light snow will begin this afternoon/late evening in Ohio County and will switch to mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain around midnight. Closer to daybreak, the mix will change over to a period of freezing rain before changing over to all rain by 9 a.m.Ohio County could receive one to four inches of snow/sleet, depending upon where the freezing line sets up. Ohio County is also forecasted to receive .10 to .25 inches of ice accumulation. More ice accumulation is possible in the southern half of Ohio County.Once the wintry mix switches to all rain, the area could see up to one to two and a half inches. Heavy rain on melting snow, combined with poor drainage, could result in flooding problems.
