According to a press release from the OCSD, on September 30, the OCSD received a call about a burglary that took place in the 100 block of Church Street in Rockport. The victim said handguns, rifles, shotguns, and jewelry were taken from the residence. The Kentucky State Police (KSP) assisted in this initial investigation. In the early stages of the investigation, the OCSD uncovered the possibility of a white Ford Ranger being involved in the incident. The owner of the truck was identified as Christopher D. Bartley, 50, of the 400 block of North Main Street in Morgantown. OCSD detectives contacted the Morgantown Police Department, Kentucky Probation Parole, and Butler County Sheriff's Department for assistance. Officers got a search warrant for Bartley's residence later that evening. Once inside, officers found the jewelry taken in the Rockport burglary. Detectives also received information which led them to believe the stolen firearms were taken to Bowling Green. Detectives learned the weapons were being exchanged for large quantities of crystal methamphetamine. Bartley was taken into custody and charged with one count of first degree burglary. On October 9, OCSD detectives contacted members of the ATF, FBI, KSP and the Warren County Drug Task Force. OCSD detectives met with those officers in Bowling Green and conducted surveillance of a person believed to be responsible for swapping weapons for methamphetamine. On October 10, the investigation led authorities to a storage unit in Bowling Green. Inside the unit, detectives found 15 rifles and one handgun originally stolen in the Rockport burglary. Additional information led federal authorities to believe some of the handguns were transported to the Chicago area, where they were traded for crystal methamphetamine. That investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the ATF and FBI. In the meantime, OCSD detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Angela M. Sublett, 44, who is believed to be involved in the Rockport burglary. She is described as a white female, around 5'3" tall, weighing about 110 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact the OCSD at 270-298-4444.
