Sheriff’s Dept. arrests 3 people during drug busts

[caption id="attachment_20260" align="alignright" width="192"]Josh Biever Josh Biever[/caption] A tip about a drug deal, led to the arrest of three people and the seizure of illegal drugs by the Ohio County Sheriff's Department (OCSD) yesterday. On Monday morning, the Ohio County Sheriff's Department (OCSD) received information a drug deal was to take place, later that day, in the 1800 Block of North Main Street in Beaver Dam. Detectives conducted surveillance operations of the area soon after receiving the information. Around 11:35 a.m., two people arrived in the Save-A-Lot parking lot to make the drug transaction. They were apprehended by OCSD deputies. The two suspects were taken into custody without incident. Deputies seized around five grams of methamphetamine, cash, prescription medication, and drug paraphernalia.   [caption id="attachment_20261" align="alignright" width="172"]Monica House Monica House[/caption] That incident led to another arrest later that evening in the 100 Block of Boling Road in the Pleasant Ridge area. OCSD detectives staked out an area close to Mitchell's Market, when the suspect showed up expecting to sell three grams of methamphetamine. After the "controlled buy,", deputies surrounded the suspect's vehicle and took an individual into custody without incident. Deputies seized an another two grams of methamphetamine and cash. The investigation continues and more arrests are expected. Arrested were Josh Biever, 36, and Monica House, 33, both from Owensboro. Biever was charged with one count of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine). House was taken into custody in reference to three outstanding warrants issued for probation violations and the theft of an automobile. Sheriff David Thompson stated these two incidents "exemplify the problem of people living outside our community who brazenly bring harmful drugs into our county and endanger the welfare of our citizens."
