Ohio County High's Eagles beat defending state champion Louisville Pleasure Ridge Park Tuesday night at the Panthers' field in Louisville.  The next night, Bobby Wise's team dropped an 11-4 decision at Louisville Southern. Ohio County's game Tuesday night was played through pre-game rain and hail storms and three power outages before being completed.  The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second and added another in their third at-bat. The Panthers scratched out a run in the last of the fifth against OCHS starter Jake Griffin, who had his best stuff going.  Griffin struck out 13 Panthers through six innings of work, and was staked to two more runs in the top of the seventh by his teammates. But Griffin tired in the last of the seventh, with PRP scoring a run and loading the bases with no outs.  Brennon Leach came on in relief, allowing another run to score on a wild pitch to put the potential tying runs in scoring position.  But Leach then recorded a strike out, fielded a come-backer for the second out.  Leach then gave up a long drive to rightfield where Matt Wilkerson made a long running catch to end the game. Kiah Gledhill singled and doubled for the winners with Colton Black, Blaine Gillim, and Tristan Lykins driving in runs. Ohio Co. Ohio County took a quick 2-0 lead in Wednesday's game at Southern, but then surrendered five to the host Trojans in the bottom of the first and never recovered.  Starter Blaine Gillim and relievers Matt Wilkerson and Mac Marshall combined for one strikeout, seven walks, and one hit batsman. Wilkerson, Lykins, and T.J. Smith accounted for six of the Eagles' eight hits. Ohio Co.
