When asked about the honor, Miller said, "This is the region of Virginia where I did my high school wrestling.  There...Roanoke Valley Wrestling Association...is very active in their support of wrestling throughout the Roanoke Valley.  They host tournaments and organize events, promote the sport, etc.  Every year they have a banquet where they recognize outstanding area wrestlers, and award a few scholarships to graduating seniors that wrestled.  At that banquet they also induct people from the wrestling community into the Wrestling Hall of Fame.  This year it will be me."  The induction is set for May 12. "I feel very honored to have been selected," Miller said.  "This area of Virginia has a long history of good high school wrestling...lots of high schools with good programs and lots of fans and local news media coverage that follows the sport.  When I moved to Kentucky in 1980 I referred to it as 'The land of no wrestling' when talking to my friends and brothers — who all also wrestled — until I was finally able to get a team started in 2001.  It had been such a big part of my life up until that time.  It will be good to go back home and reimmerse myself into the wrestling community there."
