The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Ohio County today starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m. tonight. A vigorous cold front will move through the region today and will allow for stronger winds aloft to come down to the surface. Winds likely will gust around 40 mph. The best chance for these stronger wind gusts will be during the afternoon hours. Saturated grounds across the region can make trees more susceptible to falling. In addition, driving high-profile vehicles on north-south oriented roads will be more difficult. A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph or wind gusts from 40 to 57 mph are expected.
