Muhlenberg County's Kaleb Rolley converted six straight free throws in the final minute of play to help lift the Mustangs to a 52-49 win over Ohio County in Friday's championship game of the Boys' 10th District Tournament. Both teams advance to the Third Region Tournament which begins next week and will be played, like the district event, at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
Friday's game was close all the way with no more than six points separating the teams all night. The first period saw two ties and four lead changes, with the Mustangs emerging with a 12-10 lead. The MCHS lead grew to 15-10 early in the second quarter before a 9-0 run gave Ohio County the lead at 19-15. The Mustangs retook the lead at 20-19 before Matthew Sloyan buzzer-beating shot put the Eagles up 21-20 at halftime.
The third period saw Ohio County break a 27-27 tied to push out to a 33-27 edge. But Muhlenberg County came back to tie the game at 33-33. A Trace Young three-point hoop put the Eagles on top 36-33 with Sloyan's offensive rebound and buzzer-beating putback staking Ohio County to a 38-35 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Ohio County continued to lead until the 3:36 mark of the fourth period when Hunter Noffsinger's three-point play put the Mustangs up 46-44. A pair of Rolley free throws with :46.7 left bumped the margin to 48-47 before Sloyan's three-point basket cut it down to 48-47 with :31.1 on the game clock.

Rolley hit two more charity tosses with :29.9 left to make the score 50-47, before Eagle guard Trevor Lewis connected with :12.7 to go to trim the margin back to one at 50-49. Rolley was again fouled to stop the clock, and again hit both free throws to make the score 52-49. Sloyan's last-second three-point attempt was off and the game ended.
Sloyan led all scorers with 26 points while Lewis added 10. Rolley finished with a team-high 18 — 14 coming in the second half — with Noffsinger adding 11 and Neil Kirkpatrick 10. Eagle center B.J. Morse and MCHS' Zack Tarter each had seven rebounds, with the Mustangs finishing with a slight 25-23 rebounding edge.
