A Cromwell woman has been arrested after the Ohio County Sheriff's Department (OCSD) discovers what it believes to be the largest meth lab found in Ohio County.
On Tuesday night around 8 p.m., the OCSD responded to a disturbance/drug complaint at the 6900 Block of U.S. Highway 231 South in Cromwell. Upon arrival there were only two juveniles at the residence. The juveniles told deputies there had been a fight and all involved had left.
While deputies were on the scene, Lori Miller, 42, arrived at the residence and told deputies about the fight and stated there was damage to her front door. When Miller opened the door, deputies detected a very strong chemical order, commonly associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. Deputies were granted written consent to search the residence and uncovered what is believed to be the largest methamphetamine lab in the county to date.
Deputies located lithium batteries, crushed pseudo-ephedrine pills, drain cleaner, starting fluid, salts, coffee filters, cold packs, along with other items used to manufacture methamphetamine in the residence. Also in the residence was marijuana, drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and prescription pills. Deputies located nine “1 pots,” which is a method used to manufacture methamphetamine, and 7 Hydrogen Chloride (HCl) generators.
Miller was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center on charges of possession of a controlled substance, manufacturing methamphetamine, first degree possession of a controlled substance (meth), unlawful possession of meth precursors, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor.
