Jake Griffin pitched a two-hit shutout and Kiah Gledhill smacked a two-run home run Tuesday as the Ohio County Eagles beat host Allen County-Scottsville 11-0 in six innings. Tuesday’s was the Eagles’ sixth win in a row, their longest win streak of the season.
Ohio County got to Patriot starter Chris Brown for four first-inning runs on Nate Morris’ single and five bases on balls. Zach Johnson’s triple and Blaine Gillim’s single resulted in a run in the top of the second, with Gledhill’s blast following a Lawson Clayton single in the top of the fourth put the Eagles up 7-0.
Morris doubled to open the Ohio County fifth and came home on a Jake Griffin single. Gledhill, Johnson, Will Davis, Morris, Jake Griffin, and Michael Griffin all singled in the sixth to put OCHS up by 11 runs. Jake Griffin recorded the last three of his eight strikeouts in the bottom of the sixth to end the game on the run rule.
Morris had three hits for Ohio County with Gledhill, Johnson, Davis, and Jake Griffin each adding two.
