Contract and state mowing crews are on the move for their first round of mowing for the year. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists to be alert for mowing crews during daylight hours anytime weather allows.
Motorists should slow down and use caution when they enter a mowing zone as mowing equipment may be required to travel into or across the roadway during their work.
Contract crews are working in the Owensboro area and the Hopkinsville area and will be on the move across the region. Contract crews will be working along US highways, parkways and interstates. State crews will be working along US highways and rural secondary highways in all counties in coming weeks.
A mowing zone should be given the same respect as other work zones. Slow down, put down your cell phone, pay attention to traffic around you, and be alert for mowing equipment you may meet up ahead.
