Eagles come from behind again for win over Hancock 35-27

Eagle quarterback Jake Griffin escapes the grasp of Hancock County's Beau Case during the first half of OC's comeback win Friday night at OCHS.[/caption] Jake Griffin rushed for five touchdowns Friday night to lead the Ohio County High football Eagles to a 35-27 win over visiting Hancock County.  Friday's win upped the Eagles to 2-0 while the Hornets slipped to 0-2. The win was Ohio County's second comeback victory in as many games as the Eagles rallied from a 14-6 deficit in the second half of the Armstrong Coal Bowl at Muhlenberg County last week. A recap of Friday's significant plays:  First quarter — Hancock County's Austin Haaff scores on a 27-yard pass from Koert Morris, Justin Rogers kicks the point-after-touchdown (HC 7, OC 0). Second quarter — Hornet Beau Case scores on a 71-yard run, Rogers kicks the PAT (HC 14, OC 0); Eagle Brennon Leach intercepts a Morris pass, returns it 50 yards to HC 15; Eagle Chris Logsdon misses on a 33-yard field goal try; Jake Griffin scores on a 68-yard run, Logsdon kicks the PAT (HC 14, OC 7); Hornet Cole Dickins scores on a 24-yard pass from Morris, Rogers kicks the PAT (HC 21, OC 7). Third quarter — Hornet Trevor Garrison fumbles, Eagle Jesse Brown recovers at the HC 17; Jake Griffin scores on a nine-yard run, the PAT fails (HC 21, OC 13); Jake Griffin scores on a 29-yard run, Jake Griffin runs for a two-point PAT (OC 21, HC 21). Fourth quarter — OC holds HC on downs, takes ball at OC 38; Jake Griffin scores on a seven-yard run, PAT kick fails (OC 27, HC 21); Jake Griffin scores on a 64-yard run, Chance Hoover runs for a two-point PAT (OC 35, HC 21); Case scores on an 81-yard pass from Morris, PAT run fails (OC 35, HC 27).
