Ohio Co. under Winter Storm Warning

The National Weather Service in Louisville has upgraded Ohio County from a Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Storm Warning. The Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 6 p.m. this afternoon until 6 p.m. Saturday. Significant accumulations of snow, sleet and ice are possible Friday evening through much of Saturday. Snow is expected to develop early this evening. The snow is expected to become mixed with sleet and freezing rain overnight and into Saturday. Today's high and low temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s.
Precipitation will change to rain Saturday, especially south. Mix may continue north. Moderate to heavy rain at times Saturday in southern Kentucky. Saturday's high temperature will reach the upper 30s and the low temperature will reach be in the mid 20s.
Significant amounts of snow and ice accumulations are likely in the warned areas. As of now, Ohio County is forecast to receive one to four inches of snow. There is also a possibility of some ice accumulation, possibly up to a quarter-inch. After the changeover to rain, Ohio County could receive up to 1 to 3 inches of rain.
Heavy rain on melting snow, combined with poor drainage could result in flooding problems.
Use extreme caution if traveling tonight or Saturday.
