Now that the winter storm upon us, the National Weather Service in Louisville has provided another update on what Ohio County can expect today.
According to the NWS, snow will continue throughout the day, with the heaviest snowfall expected this morning into the early afternoon. Accumulations of 6 to 10+ inches of snow will be possible. The snow is expected to taper off this evening and exit to the west around 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight.
Snow has and will accumulate quickly on roads. Given the expected amounts, travel will be dangerous to near impossible today. Additionally, temperatures in the upper teens and 20s may cause some road chemicals to be ineffective.
