Haggard will appear at the Beaver Dam Amphitheater on Friday, May 29. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale March 2 at 8 a.m. Tickets will cost $40 and be available online at beaverdamtourism.com or locally at Young Hardware and Consignment Connection.  Haggard, 77, has written and performed country music for over 60 years. While serving time in San Quentin Prison, Haggard saw Johnny Cash perform and it inspired him to join the prison's country music band. Haggard would leave prison and go on to have 38 number one country songs, including hits like "Mama Tried," "Workin' Man Blues," "Okie from Muskogee," "The Fightin' Side of Me," "Pancho and Lefty" and "That's the Way Love Goes." Haggard has won many awards, including three Grammys and 19 Academy of Country Music Awards and his influence can be heard in many artists across the decades.  According to Beaver Dam Mayor, and Beaver Dam Tourism Commission Chairman, Paul Sandefur, the tourism commission will have other concert announcements in the future, including one for a concert in March.  For more information on this event and upcoming events, "like" the Beaver Dam Tourism' s Facebook page.
