Rockets too much for Eagles in 83-57 loss

Eagle senior Jon Calloway drives to the basket.[/caption] The Shelby County Rockets jumped out to a 19-7 lead over Ohio County and coasted to an 83-57 win in second-day action in the South Central Bank-Halton Classic at Scottsville. Host Allen County-Scottsville beat Hart County 70-63 in the other boys’ game at the boy-girl holiday tournament. Shelby County added two points to its lead in the second quarter to hold a 42-28 edge at halftime, and increased the final margin in each quarter. Eagle guard Connor Wilson had 19 points in a losing effort with Johnathan Callaway chipping in with 15. Jordan Gordon topped five Rockets scoring in double figures with 17. Keenan Cochran was next with 16 while Jordan Armstrong had 14 and Jacob Gowin and Kemar Mason had 10 each. Mason had a game-high nine rebounds, with Gordon getting eight and Cochran seven as SCHS outboarded the Eagles by a 45-23 margin.
