With modern gun deer season having closed this past weekend in Ohio County, one local boy may inspire a few extra hunters to get out into the cold weather in an attempt to bag a trophy buck next season.
Little Elijah McIntyre was out with his father, Michael McIntyre, and bagged a 19-point non-typical buck last week. While many hunters hope to harvest a deer like this just once in their lifetime, this was Elijah's first deer ever.
According to Fish & Wildlife data, typically Ohio County sees over 1,000 deer harvested annually.
