US 62 bridge open, update on St. Rt. 505 bridge

One bridge in Ohio County closed for repairs has opened and another one will be opened near the end of the month. According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), a contractor for the KYTC has reopened U.S. Highway 62 at mile point 12.314 in Beaver Dam. The closure  on U.S. Highway 62 East was to allow construction of a new bridge over Muddy Creek. The contractor finished work on Thursday and U.S. Highway 62 returned to normal traffic flow at the site The KYTC also updated the progress of the bridge replacement on State Route 505. The bridge on State Route 505 is on track to reopen for traffic around the original August 1 completion date. After the bridge is reopened, there will be about a month or two of finish work on the overpass.
